Edinburgh church to host Christian Aid book sale

St Andrew’s and St George’s West will hold the annual rummage, which raises crucial funds for the charity each year.

Any Edinburgh residents with a love of books will attend the upcoming Christian Aid book sale, one of the biggest in the world, being held at St Andrew’s and George’s West this coming May.
Starting Saturday 13 th May, the sale will continue its 50-year streak in helping Christian Aid raise funds for its crucial work around the world. Its current projects include helping some of most vulnerable people on the planet. For example, they are helping victims of the recent Turkey-Syria earthquake, where around 50,000 have died and over 7,000 building destroyed, leaving thousands homeless. Struggling families in the drought-stricken East Africa region which has already killed around 23,000 people-, will also benefit from the funds. Anyone wanting to donate books to the sale can do so by dropping off items at the church in the days before the event – the dates and times for donations are:
Monday, 8 th May from 9am-8pm
Tuesday 9 th May from 9am-8pm
Wednesday 10th May from 9am-8pm
